In our experience, coaching isn’t essential for success in consulting interviews . However, because the competition for entry into top management consulting firms is so fierce – with acceptance rates lower than 1% – some candidates find it helpful to supplement their preparations by practicing with a coach who has been an interviewer at a top firm. 

Experienced case study coaches can help to accelerate candidates’ preparation by gauging their level of performance quickly and helping them identify areas of strength and weakness. Case interview coaches also provide accurate and helpful feedback and offer support for managing stress and pre-interview nerves. Many candidates prepare for consulting interviews successfully without coaching. However, those who choose to work with a coach to supplement their preparations find it useful to do so at different stages:

• When they are first invited to interview – at this stage, coaches can help candidates understand what to expect from the interview and identify areas of strength and weakness early in the process.
• Close to their first round of interviews – at this stage, coaches can help candidates address any remaining areas for improvement and help with building their confidence.
• Between rounds of interviews – at this stage, coaches can help candidates to work on feedback they received from the previous round.

On average, customers who purchase several case interview coaching sessions buy five sessions.

You’ll begin by discussing your objectives with your coach and then agreeing how the session will work. You’ll then go through a full case with the coach, where you’ll have the opportunity to practice assessment dimensions such as:

• structuring
• math
• judgment and insights
• creativity
• synthesis
• case leadership
• presence and communication

Depending on what you agree with your coach, you will either receive feedback as you progress through the case or at the end of the session. The coach will draw your attention to your strongest areas, along with the assessment dimensions that represent your biggest opportunities for improvement. 

If there is time at the end of the session, your case interview coach will be able to answer any questions you might have.

Our coaches are all experienced consulting interviewers from top firms like McKinsey, BCG and Bain. We select our consulting interview coaches based on their experience in recruitment at the relevant firms and aim to present coaches from a variety of firms and locations. We unlist any coach who does not meet our quality standards.

Your coach will receive your request as soon as you make the booking. They have 24 hours to accept or decline. If they do not accept within 24 hours, you will receive a coupon to re-book the session with the same coach or with another eligible coach.

You can save up to 25% when you buy a package of several sessions.

Discounts are not available for several sessions purchased individually.

Once you have purchased a package of several sessions, you immediately receive a coupon allowing you to book your sessions with eligible coaches.

You can use the coupon right away to book your sessions.

When you book a session with a consulting interview coach, they have 24 hours to accept or decline your request. If they do not accept within 24 hours, your coupon will be re-credited and you will be able to make a new booking.

Yes, you can ask for a refund for unused sessions within 12 months of the purchase.

Booked sessions that were not canceled at least an hour before the appointment are not refundable. Check our full refund policy for more information.

Yes, you are allowed to cancel or reschedule a session up to one hour before your appointment.

Yes, you can message coaches at any time from their profile page by clicking on ‘Message’. You will also receive your coach’s contact details once your session is confirmed.

If you are unhappy with the quality of the coaching, please reach out to [email protected], mentioning the reason why you are unhappy. We will get in contact with you. You can also rate your session on the platform.

Yes, all our consulting interview coaches will be able to help you prepare for the case interview. The format of the case interview is identical for all entry levels. That said, we recommend that you pick a coach who has worked at a similar level and will relate to your seniority and experience.

If you’re looking to prepare for the fit interview, only a small number of coaches will be able to help at this level. Please message the coach ahead of making a booking to check. You can also contact us if you need with help selecting the right coach.

If your interview consists of solving a case, our coaches will be able to help you.

Our coaches have various interviewing experiences. Have a look at their profiles and message them ahead of making a booking to make sure they can help you.

Our coaches typically use their own cases. However, if you want to practice a case in a specific function, industry or level of difficulty, you can message your coach prior to the session to discuss it.

You will receive verbal feedback during the session as well as written feedback in your CaseCoach account after the session.

You can submit a review for each completed session from your coaching sessions page. You can also leave a review for your coaching package purchase.

The coupon is valid for 12 months from the moment of the purchase. If you haven’t used all of your sessions by then, you can ask for a refund.
